Two more DIAMONDS were added to the Samos Cooperative’s international golden awards “jewelry case”, honoring it for its excellent wines!
The Diamond awards and honorary distinctions were awarded at the 15th International Competition “Femmes et Vins du Monde Concours International 2021” held in Monaco to the U.W.C Samos’ dry, white, muscat wines namely the “Moscato Aspro” and “Psiles Korfes”.
Specifically, the “Moscato Aspro” impressed the judges of the competition so much, that they awarded it, with a high score, the “Diamond” medal and the honorary distinction “Trophee Admirable”. It is the second “diamond” that this wine receives, as in the same competition in 2019, it was characterized as the 2nd best wine and the FIRST BEST dry white wine of the contest.
The famous “Psiles Korfes”, the fine dry white wine from the best mountainous vineyards of Samos, won its own “Diamond” in the “Liste de Vins – Mention Honorifique”. Its unquestionable quality, as well as its fruity and floral aromas, have placed it at the top of the consumer’s preference, both in Greece and abroad.
It is worth noting that the UWC Samos, in the 15th competition “Femmes et Vins du Monde”, only sent these two wines for evaluation, as representatives of the quality expressed by the grape variety “White small-berried Muscat ” in dry wines!
Samos Anthemis, the exquisite, aged, sweet wine of the UWC Samos, had already been honored by the same competition with 2 diamond awards. It got its first “diamond” in 2011 and the second in 2019 respectively.
In this international competition, wines are evaluated with strict and fair criteria exclusively by worldwide feminine experts in oenology, wine tourism and gastronomy.
These honorary distinctions reward the Cooperative’s producers-members for their efforts in continuing the family tradition of cultivating their ancestral vineyards and its oenologists who “create” jewel-like wines.
